Palantir's Role In The Operation Epic Fury
Now, let's take a look at what's happening in the Middle East. Operation Epic Fury, which began on February 28th, was orchestrated by algorithms (at least to some extent and based on the news) and real-time remote sensing.

The U.S. military reportedly utilized artificial intelligence technology from Palantir and Anthropic in both operations. Experts say, “Avoiding unpopular ground troop deployments among the American public, the new form of warfare is overturning the situation by ‘pinpoint’ eliminating enemy leadership early in operations based on overwhelming military power, intelligence, and AI capabilities.”

    Source: The Chosun Daily

According to some reports citing the WSJ, US military was using Anthropic models to attack Iran, but what might be missed in the current info chaos is the fact that Claude, or whatever model might have been used, can't operate on military-sensitive data as a standalone tool. There should have been an entire ecosystem for AI to work effectively for this kind of task, and this is where I think Palantir's ontology helped.

Anthropic was previously among a small group of AI developers, alongside Google and others, awarded Pentagon contracts worth up to $200 million to deliver advanced AI capabilities. Its Claude model was cleared for classified military and intelligence tasks through partnerships with Palantir Technologies and Amazon Web Services.

Claude couldn't operate without Palantir, which is called the "brain of the battlefield" by some journalists for a reason. I couldn't find concrete statements about Palantir's role in the Epic Fury, but given that we know Claude has been used, I'm certain that it was used through Palantir's systems that "hosts" Claude since late 2024.

In late 2024 Anthropic made Claude available on a Palantir platform with a cloud security level up to "secret" - making Claude, by public accounts, the first large language model operating inside classified systems.
