The MND Group (FR0011584549, MND), an innovative developer of mountain and urban mobility solutions, is listed on the Paris Euronext regulated market, compartment C.
MND today announces the signing of the first contract for its new range of detachable ski lifts: the Group's French subsidiary LST will equip the famous French alpine resort of La Plagne with a new generation detachable 6-seater chairlift.
Since 2014, MND has invested several million euros in designing a new range of innovative detachable chairlifts and cable cars protected by a number of patents.
After the successful completion of bench tests early this year, marketing has begun under the most promising conditions. MND has earned the trust of Société d'Aménagement de La Plagne (SAP), a subsidiary of Compagnie des Alpes, the No. 1 ski resort operator worldwide which covers 11 of France's largest alpine ski resorts.
The MND Group will deliver the six-seater detachable chairlift this summer, in time for commissioning before the beginning of the winter ski season. The agreement covers the supply of all of the equipment; SAP itself will carry out the civil engineering and installation work, with support from the LST teams.
Once installed, this new LST chairlift will benefit from widespread exposure as, with almost 2.5 million skier visits per year, La Plagne boasts the most visitors of any ski resort worldwide.
One of the major innovations of this new range of detachable ski lifts is the detachable grip technology, which connects the chairlift or car to the cable. It significantly improves installation performance and facilitates maintenance.
Furthermore, the departure and arrival stations and the ergonomics of the vehicles were redesigned in consultation with operators at a number of resorts. This was in response to their requests for a reduced environmental impact, improved safety and enhanced passenger comfort.
“We found the innovative technologies offered by LST very appealing”, stated Jean-Yves Salle, CEO of SAP . “With nearly 400 kilometres of ski slopes, the technical challenge is considerable, as we need to enable the multitude of skiers at La Plagne to move about in the best possible conditions. This new chairlift will help us improve our management of skier traffic and, more generally, meet all of our safety, design and comfort requirements. Lastly, this chairlift was designed to optimise costs and facilitate operations and maintenance, which clearly increases its appeal .”
Group Chairman and CEO, Xavier Gallot-Lavallée, commented, “ We are delighted to announce the initial commercial success of our brand new range of detachable chairlifts. The new contract signed with SAP, a subsidiary of leading ski resort operator Compagnie des Alpes, confirms the benefits of the innovative technology that we have developed and positions MND as a leading market player”.
