(Bloomberg) -- Michelin plans to bid for 20.6% of Societe
Internationale de Plantations Heveas, according to filing with French market
regulator Autorite des Marches Financiers.
* Michelin, through its unit Cie. Financiere Michelin, will offer EU85/share
for 1.04m SIPH shares
* NOTE: Offers values stake at EU88.6m, values all of SIPH at EU430m
* Michelin’s CFM already holds 23.8% of SIPH, with remaining 55.6% held by
SIFCA
** Michelin’s CFM and SIFCA have formed shareholder pact controlling 79.40%
of SIPH
** SIFCA is jointly owned by Parme Investissement, which in turn is
controlled by the Billon family, and Immoriv, which is controlled by the
Doumbia family
* Michelin plans to ask for de-listing of SIPH within 3 mos.
after closing of offer, if required conditions are met
* SIPH shares to resume trading in Paris on Wednesday
** SIPH closed at EU59.95/share on Monday before trading halt on Tuesday
* SIPH says it’s leading producer of natural rubber in Africa
** Co. produced 191,500 tons of rubber in 2015
** Ivory Coast accounted for 70% of production, Ghana 16%, Nigeria 11%,
Liberia 2%.
