FUTUREN, an independent producer of wind power, is actively pursuing the implementation of its project portfolio. After having ordered turbines last November and secured a non-recourse long term bank loan mid-February, FUTUREN now launches the construction works for Les Monts project.
Located on the territory of the towns of Sainte-Maure and Saint-Benoît-sur-Seine, in the Aube French department, the wind farm will comprise 4 wind turbines with a unit capacity of 3.3 MW, for a total installed capacity of 13.2 MW.
In 2016, FUTUREN will thus build two new wind farms: the 18 MW Chemin Perré wind farm, under construction since September 2015, and now Les Monts wind farm. The commissioning of these two wind farms is respectively planned in the course of the second half of 2016 and by the end of 2016.
These two wind farms will generate green electricity that will cover the yearly domestic electricity needs of more than 26,000 households.
Commenting on this news, Fady Khallouf, Chief Executive Officer of FUTUREN, said:
“FUTUREN pursues a significant organic growth. The completion of two new wind farms in 2016 will add 31 MW to our installed capacity for own account which today stands at 342 MW.
The commissioning of these two wind farms, implemented at constant structure cost, will directly increase our profitability.”
