PERRY COUNTY : Pacific Capital Bancorp Announces Addit

SANTA BARBARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Pacific Capital Bancorp (Nasdaq: PCBC - News), a community bank holding company, today announced that Paul B. Alexander has been hired to serve as Special Assets Manager. In this role, Mr. Alexander will oversee the Banks team of Special Asset Officers, who are responsible for the management and resolution of criticized and classified loans, leases and assets.
The addition of Paul as the Banks Special Assets Manager strengthens our overall credit administration department and will improve our ability to effect satisfactory resolutions to problem loans, said George Leis, President and CEO of Pacific Capital Bancorp. Paul has more than 30 years of banking experience, focusing on many of the same markets and borrowers as Pacific Capital. His expertise will be valuable in helping the Bank effectively manage through this credit cycle.
Prior to joining Pacific Capital Bancorp, Mr. Alexander was Executive Vice President/Residential Real Estate Department Manager at Comerica Bank, where he had oversight of six lending groups focused on local and regional home builders in California and Arizona. Previous to this role, Mr. Alexander was Senior Vice President/Credit Administration Officer at Imperial Bank in Los Angeles from 1997-2006 (during which time it was acquired by Comerica Bank). As Senior Vice President/Credit Administration Officer at Imperial Bank, Mr. Alexander was responsible for various lending activities including middle market, real estate, asset-based lending, entertainment, SBA and leasing.
From 1982-1996, Mr. Alexander served in a number of senior positions for Metrobank, including Executive Vice President/Chief Credit Officer, where he was responsible for overall credit quality, including loan administration and loan approval. Mr. Alexander has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration/Finance from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.
