Cereplast Moves Operations to its Indiana Facility
Company reduces footprint in Southern California to increase efficiencies and streamline R&D and production

Press Release Source: Cereplast, Inc. On Tuesday January 12, 2010, 6:30 am EST

HAWTHORNE, Calif. & SEYMOUR, Ind.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Cereplast, Inc. (OTCBB: CERP - News), a leading manufacturer of proprietary bio-based, sustainable plastics, announced today that it has signed a lease for a new facility located in El Segundo, CA for the Company’s corporate offices. Cereplast is reducing its footprint in Southern California, and is moving all R&D and production lines to its much larger state-of-the-art facility in Seymour, Indiana.

Cereplast announced development of the new Indiana facility in late 2007. The company had delayed the opening because of the economic downturn that began in 2008. Due to recent developments at the Company, and economic streamlining, Cereplast will begin the utilizing the Indiana facility for its R&D operations, and the manufacturing of its bio-plastic resins, as early as February.

“This is part of our ongoing strategy to streamline our operations. The Indiana plant will allow us to drastically reduce our costs compared to California; from real estate to utilities, the savings will be across the board,” stated Mr. Frederic Scheer, Founder, Chairman and CEO of Cereplast, Inc. “As we opened this new facility in Indiana, it made sense to reduce our leased space in California. This will improve cash flow and allow us to focus on our strengths, which are developing and marketing bio-plastic resins to the worldwide consumer and industrial plastics markets. This is another step toward our final goal of having a strategic partner compound our resins not only in the United States but also abroad. This major move to a more geographically central region is part of our strategic plan, and will facilitate our operations, allowing us to better serve our growing list of clients located in the United States.”
