Cereplast Featured at Major Plastic Fair in Brazil


Company’s Bio-Based Resins Gaining Acceptance in Brazil and Latin America



HAWTHORNE, Calif., April 24, 2009 -- Cereplast, Inc. (OTCBB: CERP), a leading manufacturer of proprietary bio-based, sustainable plastics, will be present during May and June 09 at several key events in Brazil. Iraplast/Krest, Cereplast exclusive distributor in Brazil, will be exhibiting at:



Brasilplast, one of the Major Plastic Fair in Latin America, from May 4 to 8 2009 in São Paulo – Brazil (www.brasilplast.com.br ) at Jasot Booth G50/H51.



Fispal Food Service (the only Food Service Show in Latin America) from June 15 to 18 and at Fispal Technologies from June 16 to 19 2009, both events celebrating its 25th anniversary in Sao Paulo -Brazil (www.fispal.com ).



Highlights for the show are Cereplast Compostables® resins, biodegradable plastic for application like bags, margarine tubs, cutlery, cups and much more.

    Bunge Alimentos Receives Award for Biodegradable Packaging Made of Cereplast Compostables®

    Cereplast, Inc. (OTCBB:CERP), a leading developer of proprietary bio-based sustainable plastics, today announced that Bunge Alimentos, the largest agribusiness and food company in Brazil, has received the prestigious 2009 Embanews Award for Best Renewable and Biodegradable Packaging. The thermoformed packaging used for Bunge’s CYCLUS® margarine brand is made of Cereplast Compostables® resin.

    “We are very pleased that Bunge received the Award at Brazilplast,” said Philippe Ravera, Cereplast Vice-President Sales and Marketing. “Once again it shows that the plastic industry understands the importance of sustainability.
