GROUPE STERIA : Steria to work alongside Norwegian Labour and Welfare Service on major IT modernisation programme
Steria has won a contract with the Norwegian Labour and Welfare Service (NAV) to strengthen their organisation with capacity and skills during the implementation of a major IT modernisation programme . This is one of the largest and most important IT programmes for the public sector in Norway. Steria will provide consultancy services within five areas ranging from business consultancy to technical support . The aim of the NAV modernisation programme is to reduce time spent on administration, increase efficiency, eliminate unnecessary cost and make it easier for the public to access services. The contract should be worth an estimated amount up to NOK 800 million (€ 107 million) over six years.
Paris, France, 30 October 2012 - Steria, a leading provider of IT-enabled business services, today announces that it has won a major contract with the Norwegian Labour and Welfare Service (NAV) to strengthen their organisation with capacity and skills during the implementation of their IT modernisation programme. This programme aims at reducing the amount of time the organisation currently spends on administration whilst making its services more accessible to the public, improving efficiencies and eliminating unnecessary costs.
This six-year contract would be worth between NOK 650 to 800 million (€ 87 to 107 million) and work has already begun.
Steria will work alongside NAV to manage a series of vendors to ensure that the programme is delivered on time and for quality assurance. Steria will have direct responsibility for four of the five areas: business consulting, project management, technical support and testing. Sub-contractor Acando will handle architecture.
In its annual budget for 2013, the Norwegian government proposed allocating almost NOK 750 million (€ 100 million) to modernise ICT systems at NAV.
