Demand, Guidance Improve

Shares of the electronics services company are moving higher after announcing that demand is increasing and issuing upbeat guidance. I show SANM moving up from $6.63 yesterday to $7.40 this morning on our Heat Seeker tracking system.


Children's Place Grows Up

The specialty retailer is estimating third-quarter earnings in the range of $1.35 to $1.39 per share, some $0.40 better than consensus forecasts. PLCE is trading up $2 in the pre-market on the Heat Seeker.


Upgrade Gives Palm a Hand

Barclays has upgraded shares of the smartphone maker to "equal weight" from "underweight" with a price target of $11, following recent downgrades by other firms. The competition from the knowns and now the Droid from Google and Motorola have spooked PALM followers, but Barclays has clearly viewed the recent pullback as an opportunity. Shares closed at $10.86 yesterday but are trading at $11.13 this morning.
