GROUPE STERIA : Axa France joins forces with Steria to launch its pay as you drive offer for its private clients
AXA France and Steria are joining forces to offer drivers who cover less than 4,000 km per year a "pay as you drive" offer suited to their life-style and enabling them to take advantage of discounts in their insurance premiums.
Although the car remains by far the most frequently used means of transport by the French population, a reduction in car traffic has been noticed for the first time since 1974. Environmental imperatives, the development of public transport and also a reduction in purchasing power imposes this change in behaviour: the French are using their cars less and less.
In response to this change in behaviour and as an extension to its "8,000 km*" scheme, AXA France is now offering an insurance solution for those who drive less than 4,000 kilometres a year.
This new offer will enable policy holders to take advantage of the following benefits:
- A price reduction of up to 45% compared with the unlimited mileage cover.
- If the vehicle is stolen, whatever the insurance package, AXA Assistance will use its GPS localisation service to find your car and the theft excess will be abolished.
- No installation costs or subscription costs for the GPS box.
* At AXA France, the 8,000 km package now represents almost 15% of new business and over 600,000 portfolio contracts.
The Kilometrix offer by Steria, a unique offer on the market
Steria, the European leader in IT services, has recognised experience in the world of onboard telematics and the deployment of systems supporting "Pay as you drive" offers, in particular due to its Kilometrix offer.
The onboard telematics system Kilometrix, gathers information on the number of kilometres covered, in a totally secure manner and in line with the CNIL directives. This solution, feeding back information from a vehicle, works via the M2M communication boxes, based on the combination of GPRS and GPS technologies.
Note: "Pay as you drive": an offer enabling car insurance policy holders to adjust their insurance premiums to their driving behaviour and the actual use they make of their vehicle.
