LATECOERE : Pierre Gadonneix elected Chairman of Latécoère Supervisory Board


Today, Latécoère Supervisory Board has co-opted Pierre Gadonneix and elected him Chairman on the proposal of Jean-Claude Chaussonnet, who becomes Vice-Chairman.

Jean-Claude Chaussonnet stated: "Latécoère has many assets which ideally position the group in the ongoing consolidation of the aerospace sector. I suggested that the Supervisory Board welcome Pierre Gadonneix as Chairman:  his experience will be an important asset during this consolidation phase. Together we are determined to build an industrial case for Latécoère which paves the way for a dynamic future to Latécoère's employees and shareholders."

Pierre Gadonneix, former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Electricité de France (EDF), stated: "I wish to thank the Supervisory Board and Jean-Claude Chaussonnet for their trust. I look forward to working with them to support Latécoère during this crucial phase of its development and to assist the Management Board in its strategic decisions."

At the same Supervisory Board Meeting, Eric Gillard, Director of Latécoère Aerostructures division, has been appointed member of the Management Board.


Pierre Gadonneix

Pierre Gadonneix was born on January 10, 1943. With a PhD in business economics from Harvard Business School, he is also an alumnus of France's Ecole Polytechnique and a graduate of the Ecole Nationale Superieure du Petrole et des Moteurs, and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics.

Pierre Gadonneix is Chairman of the World Energy Council (WEC), which will hold its 21st congress in Montreal this September, from the 12th to the 16th. He is also Honorary Chairman of EDF, a Member of the "Conseil Economique, Social et Environnemental", and a Member of the Board of Directors of the "Fondation Nationale des Sciences Politiques".

An experienced businessman, Pierre Gadonneix has spent most of his career in industry. In 1976 he served as Technical Advisor to the Minister of Industry and Research. From 1978 to 1987 he was Director of Metallurgical, Engineering and Electrical Industries in the Ministry of Industry and, in this context, made a significant contribution to the restructuring of the French steel industry. Pierre Gadonneix served as Chairman of Gaz de France from 1996 to 2004, after joining the company nine years previously as Chief Operating Officer. In 2004 he was appointed Chairman and CEO of EDF, a position he held until 2009.

Jean-Claude Chaussonnet

Jean-Claude Chaussonnet was born on July 21, 1941, and is a graduate of the Ecole Centrale de Paris.

Jean-Claude Chaussonnet is General Secretary of the Air and Space Academy.

Following his studies he joined Aerospatiale, and spent his entire career in the Aeronautics sector. In 1973, he served as Production Manager for the Concorde Programs, before successively taking over the Transall and ATR programs. After holding several positions as Plant Manager starting in 1982, he became Director of Production for the Aircraft division in 1992 and Director of Aerostructures (management of four Airbus and ATR production facilities) in 1995.  In 1998 he was promoted to the post of Industrial Director of Aerospatiale Matra Airbus, before being appointed President and General Manager of Airbus France in 2000, a position he held until 2003.

Eric Gillard

Born on August 16, 1956, Eric Gillard holds a DEA in Chemistry and is a graduate of the IAE de Toulouse school of management.

In 1984, Eric Gillard joined Aerospatiale as Head of "Non Metal" Materials, as an expert in composites. From 1989 to 1993, he chaired the Society for the Advancement of Material and Process Engineering (SAMPE) France, before becoming Head of Airbus's Competence Center for aircraft painting and Development Manager for "polished" aircraft. In 1997 he served as Project Leader for Hull Investment on the A340-500/600 program. He was appointed Director of Purchasing - Materials and Aerostructures of Airbus France in 1999, and then Director of Purchasing - Aerostructures with responsibility for Airbus"s major subcontractors abroad in 2004. He joined Latécoère as Director of Purchasing in 2008, and was then made Director of Operations in 2009. He was subsequently appointed Director of the Aerostructures division, and became a member of the Management Board in 2010.
