The Norwegian Labour and Welfare Organization (NAV) has signed a framework agreement with Steria.

The agreement is for two years with an option to extend it a further two years. “This is an extremely important agreement for us. NAV is the biggest user of IT services in the public sector, very largely as a result of three major parallel reforms. During the tender process, NAV was looking for 15 areas of expertise, with a view to entering into 3-10 agreements per area with approved suppliers. We have been able to meet their needs in 13 of these, which is very satisfying for us,” says Nils-Petter Kristiansen, Client Manager at Steria.

The framework agreement covers the purchase of IT consulting services, including project management, test management, development services, specialists and advice. Services are commissioned in competition between suppliers with framework agreements. Kristiansen estimates the agreement could be worth up to 4 million Euros per year.

Steria’s client relationship with NAV dates from 2003, before the merger between Aetat (National Employment Service) and Trygdeetaten (Social Welfare System). “The partnership, which started on a small-scale, has grown rapidly with NAV, now one of Steria’s biggest clients” Nils-Petter Kristiansen explains.
