GROUPE STERIA : NHS Shared Business Services (SBS), a unique joint venture between the British Department of Health and Steria, signs up 12 new NHS organisations

NHS Shared Business Services (SBS) has been awarded new contracts to provide a combination of finance, accounting and payroll BPO services to a further 12 NHS organisations across the country. The contracts, with a combined value of ¤16.5 million (£13.8 million), will improve the quality and efficiency of services for the 23,000+ NHS professionals working in these administrations.

NHS SBS will be providing a flexible and reliable service specifically designed to meet the changing needs of NHS organisations. Leicestershire Partnership Trust is one of the latest groups to have taken this opportunity to move to NHS SBS as their payroll provider. Tony Burnell, Director of People and Transformation at Leicestershire Partnership Trust, says, “NHS SBS have the knowledge and capability to supply a first class payroll system. NHS SBS offers a cutting edge, flexible and secure service, combining best practice and knowledge from across the public and private sectors, and ultimately freeing up funds for patient care. We are pleased to welcome these organisations to the NHS family of shared services organisations.”
