BT extends IT service support and development contract with Steria: 92 million euros over six years (75 million pounds over six years)
Steria, the European IT enabled, business services company today announces the extension of its applications outsourcing contract with BT until March 2014. Steria will continue to support the key applications that underpin BT's UK operations for finance and accounting (F&A) transaction processing, ledger and payroll services. These activities are delivered by Steria through a BPO contract concluded in August 2007.
Building on a 20 year relationship, the extension, worth 92 million euros (75 million pounds) over six years, will provide continuing support for and transformation of the critical business applications that support BT's finance operations. This contract will enable BT to optimise its use of Steria's integrated delivery capability to move towards a more cost effective and efficient service and use this capability across its Enterprise Management Platform.
Commenting on the agreement, Kevin Richards, Director of Enterprise Management Platform in BT Design, said: "Steria has worked with BT for many years and has evolved its services and approaches along with BT's changing business and IT requirements. Keeping the business process and IT service closely coupled provides us with a streamlined and efficient service that maintains effectiveness at critical business periods. We fully expect Steria to continue the journey of supporting our changing operations and deliver world-class services. We are therefore pleased to be extending our relationship with Steria for a further six years."
Commenting on the agreement, John Torrie, Chief Executive of Steria UK said: "This landmark outsourcing partnership is now in its second generation. Steria and BT will deliver against new improved business goals and targets. This deal cements new levels of service, an ambitious evolution of development for our joint teams, improved BT customer experience and competitive strategic advantage."
