LUBUMBASHI, Democratic Republic of Congo, June 8 (Reuters) - D emocratic Republic of Congo state miner Gecamines' debt stands at $1.6 billion, its chairman said on Wednesday, in a speech at a mining conference in Lubumbashi. Albert Yuma announced earlier a modernization plan for Gecamines for 2016-2020 that will see the company invest $717 million on operations.
